MSOE Grohmann Museum Featuring

December 11th, 2019

ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL BE OPEN THROUGH 12/8/19!

This month, the ASME Milwaukee Section will hold it's annual Spouse's Night event at the MSOE Grohmann Museum.  The museum is home to over 1400 paintings, sculptures and works on paper representing the evolution of human work.  Particularly, there is the Man at Work collection that was donated by Dr. Eckhart Grohmann, an MSOE Regent, Milwaukee businessman and avid art collector.

Our focus for this night will be on the current exhibit Magnificent Machines of Milwaukee.  This exhibit has just been extended through January 26, 2020!  Our host for the evening will be Tom Fehring, the guest curator.  Tom is a member of the ASME Milwaukee Section and author of a book also titled Magnificent Machines of Milwaukee.  After dinner, Tom will speak to us briefly and then take us on a guided tour of this special exhibit.  Typewriters, motorcycles, thermostats, outboard motors and the Sawzall are just a few of the most significant engineering marvels in Milwaukee history.  This exhibit not only focuses on the Milwaukee-born equipment and machinery, but also the engineers who created them.

Join us as we celebrate the innovation that we have seen in Milwaukee along with the many recognizable brand names that we see and use daily.
