Explore correlations between Transpersonal Therapy mediumship, paranormal, anomalous, multi-dimensional, extra-terrestrial, and psychedelic experiences and their role in the psychotherapeutic process.
The tremendous upsurge in popularity of mediumship, paranormal and anomalous experiences are making it a necessity for psychotherapists to be educated and knowledgeable about these growing trends. In this 3-credit workshop clinicians will be introduced to some of the latest state-of-the-art applications for incorporation into their psychotherapeutic practices.
Experiential exercises, practical suggestions, concrete examples, and case studies for determining diagnosis will be reviewed.
Educational Objectives:
— Clinicians will be able to articulate an understanding of the relationship between mediumship, paranormal &/or anomalous experiences and Transpersonal Psychology and the psychotherapeutic process.
— Clinicians will review both contemporary literature and ancient documents.
— Clinicians will be able to discuss with, determine efficacy of, and potentially apply and/or teach simple, yet profound spiritual healing practices to their patients.
— Overcome hesitation to incorporate spiritually-oriented practices into psychotherapy practice.
— Learn simple exercises that will quickly and effectively elevate clients (and practitioners) mood and consciousness, i.e., “connecting” and “grounding” techniques.
— Receive handouts, glossary of terms, and suggested reading list.
