Green infrastructure improves the economy, simplifies operations, and increases a community's quality of life. This one day workshop will introduce participants to techniques, projects, and talent from around Alabama that best demonstrate those benefits.
Attendees will learn how to go beyond beautification and use these projects to have a positive impact on the economics and environment of their communities. Sessions will include: resiliency, low-impact design, water management, shading, impervious surfaces and COVID-19 park policies.
Presenters include Ed McMahon, design professionals, local elected officials, and community members.

Ed McMahon holds the Charles E. Fraser Chair on Sustainable Development and Environmental Policy at the Urban Land Institute (ULI) in Washington, D.C.
He is nationally known as an inspiring and thought-provoking speaker and a leading authority on topics such as the links between health and the built environment, sustainable development, land conservation, smart growth, and historic preservation.
