Willing Workers On Local Farms (WWOLF) WWOLF is a community program of Central Oregon Locavore Non-Profit with the goal of lending a hand to small farmers while educating the community about the true nature of local food.

How It Works You will meet the group at Domegrown Produce or carpool from Locavore at 9:30am sharp (Locavore does not organize the carpooling). After a round of introductions at the farm, we will split into groups and get to work. We will break for lunch around noon and then return to work until about 3pm.

What to Expect Good times, new friends, and a boots-on-the-ground education about local farming practices. Children are welcome with adult supervision. We love dogs, but please leave them at home for this event.

What to Bring Snacks, work gloves, closed-toe shoes, layers for the weather, water, and sunscreen. Tools and all materials needed to complete tasks will be provided by the farm. Lunch will be provided.

About Domegrown Produce: It all started way back when I was just a little girl, and I grew up on a farm in Upstate New York. Some of my first childhood memories are of the garden and helping my dad in it. Well, I don’t know how much help I really was… I distinctly remember helping plant corn and beans, because the seeds were large and easy to handle. I also helped eat a lot of vegetables right off the plants. My mom would always find me out in the garden with a mouthful of cherry tomatoes. I think that growing up on the farm instilled in me the value of fresh, safe food.
