WWOLF - August 13 at Lazy Z Ranch

Willing Workers On Local Farms (WWOLF) is a community program of Central Oregon Locavore Non-Profit with the goal of lending a hand to small farmers while educating the community about the true nature of local food.

How it Works: You will meet the group at Lazy Z Ranch outside of Sisters at 9am. After a round of introductions, we will split into groups and get to work. We will finish our day with light lunch of soup and bread.

What to Expect: Good times, new friends, and a boots-on-the-ground education about local farming practices. We love dogs, but please leave them at home for this event. There will be jobs for all ages and abilities.

What to Bring: Snacks, plenty of water, work gloves, closed-toe shoes, layers for the weather, and sunscreen. Soup and bread will be provided for lunch, or bring your own! We will have a hand washing station and sanitizer for participant use.

About Lazy Z Ranch: In 2020, our little family came to the original and iconic Lazy Z Ranch with the hopes of modeling regenerative agriculture, cultivating sustainable community, and amplifying local business. At Lazy Z Ranch, we specialize in regenerative bee pastures, striving to:

  • Maintain diverse, multi-species cover crop
  • Use less water more responsibly
  • Turn over less ground
  • Avoid synthetic fertilizers and herbicides
  • Never use pesticides
  • Manage livestock appropriately
  • Promote more native and drought tolerant flora
  • Provide space and support for our animal neighbors
  • Foster a generous posture of abundance, not scarcity

Thank you and see you soon!
