TSI RC Trainer Recertification - October 24, 2017 

This 1-day Risking Connection (RC) Re-Certification training is required every 2 years for Risking Connection Associate Trainers to maintain their training credential.  

If you are not sure if you are due for re-certification, please check on the Trainers' Corner section of the TSI Website. 

Re-cert trainings count as 1 of your 2 required annual RC Trainer events. 

Training Description

This training offers an intensive learning and practice experience aimed at helping RC Trainers teach the RC Basic Training with fidelity to the model. The training: provides updated information and materials related to teaching RC; reviews critical components of the RC Basic Training; expands and deepens learning about RC concepts; discusses implementation of trauma-informed care; helps trainers reflect on and address their vicarious trauma and that of the staff with whom they work. 

RC Trainers will receive a binder with revised and updated materials for teaching Risking Connection.

Continuing Education Units

This event is approved by R. Cassidy Seminars to provide 6.25 CE hours.

Satisfactory Completion. Participants must have paid the continuing education fee, signed in, attended the entire seminar, completed an evaluation, and signed out in order to receive a certificate. Failure to sign in or out will result in forfeiture of credit for the entire course. No exceptions will be made. Partial credit is not available.

Psychologists. R. Cassidy Seminars is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. R. Cassidy Seminars maintains responsibility for this program and its content. 

Social Workers. R. Cassidy Seminars, ACE Provider #1082 is an approved provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) Program. R. Cassidys Seminars maintains responsibility for the program. Approval Period: April 15, 2015-April 15, 2018. Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval. Social workers will receive continuing education clinical social work clock hours for participating in this course.

CA The Board of Behavioral Sciences has deferred the CE course approvals to APA and ASWB for its licenses. See these approvals under Psychologists and Social Workers. 

NY R. Cassidys Seminars is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider (#0006) of continuing education for licensed social workers.

Counselors/Marriage and Family Therapist. 

CA The Board of Behavioral Sciences has deferred CE course approvals to APA and ASWB for its licenses. Cassidy Seminars is approved to offer continuing education to counselors by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences provider #PCE 418. 

Other States If your state is not specifically listed, nearly all state Counselor and MFT boards accept either APA or ASWB approval, or are reciprocal with other state licensing board approvals such as those listed below. Check with your board to be sure. The Ohio Board includes Counselors.

Chemical Dependency Counselors. Provider approved by NAADAC Approved Education Provider Program for desinated contact hours. Approval #000654

CA Provider approved by CFAAP/CAADAC, Provider #4N-00-434-0212 for designated CEHs. CAADAC is an ICRC member which has reciprocity with most ICRC member states.

Training Cost

Per person training fee: $225 (Includes all revised materials; continental breakfast, lunch, and snacks)

Continuing Education Credits:  $20

Cancellation 

We will refund the registration fee minus a $30 processing fee for cancellations up to two weeks prior to the training.  No refunds will be made for cancellations inside two weeks.

Sidran Institute is a national non-profit organization devoted to advocacy, education and research related to:  the early recognition and treatment of trauma related stress in children; and the understanding and treatment of adults suffering from trauma-generated mental health conditions. They are the publisher of the Risking Connection curricula.

Klingberg Family Centers, founded in 1903, is a private, nonprofit multi-service agency providing help to hundreds of persons across Connecticut each year. Klingberg has earned national recognition for training and consultation on implementing and sustaining trauma-informed care.
