7:30 a.m.         Registration & Breakfast

Take a quick pre-workshop assessment and meet fellow attendees. Workshop will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. 

8:00 a.m.         Welcome and Introduction to the PEEP 2.0 Program

8:30 a.m.         Forms of Energy and Energy Transformations

Review the forms of energy and energy transformations while experimenting with the Science of Energy kit.

9:45 a.m.         Sources of Energy and the PA Energy and Electricity Picture

Learn about the nation’s energy resources as they are used to generate electricity and compare them to energy consumption in the Commonwealth.

10:45 a.m.       Baseload Balance

Use this fun activity to demonstrate how utilities work with transmission organizations to  meet consumer demands while keeping costs down.

11:15 a.m.       Nonrenewable Energy Activities

Get a quick glimpse into natural gas and nuclear activities for the classroom, and an overview of kit offerings.

12:00 p.m.      Lunch

12:45p.m.        Renewable Energy Round Robin

Investigate hands-on renewable kit offerings by participating in stations and shuffling them up!

2:00 p.m.         PECO Programming  

Learn more about this year’s PEEP grant program offerings and options, how to further challenge your students, and how to engage your community.  

 2:30 p.m.         Saving and Sharing

Take a quick look at these fun and fast energy efficiency and conservation activities. Make and take your own carnival game to help engage your students and school community. 

3:00 p.m.         Wrap-Up, Act 48 Credit, Evaluation and Kit Request

3:30 p.m.         Adjourn
