STEM Leadership Academy: Museum of Science and Industry 

Calling all high school aged young women in the Chicago, Philadelphia, DC, and Baltimore areas! 

Join the STEM Leadership Academy and the Museum of Science and Industry for a virtual tour of their Science Storms exhibit, a live science demo, and a career chat and Q&A with Dr. Olivia Castellini, Senior Exhibit Developer at MSI! 

Dr. Olivia Castellini, a physicist by training, creates award winning exhibits and experiences at the Museum of Science and Industry (MSI) in Chicago, making science and cutting–edge research accessible and engaging for all. Olivia excels at translating complex topics into relatable experiences on everything from nanotechnology and math to music and sports. She was part of the core creative team behind Science Storms, MSI's 26,000 square foot exhibition about the amazing science which underlies natural phenomena. More Information:

Participants must be young women in 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade or a STEM Academy alumnae.

Participants must have computer and internet access and be interested in fully participating in the Zoom session by sharing video.

Participants must be located in one of the following areas:

  • ComEd service territory of Illinois (Chicago and most of northern Illinois)
  • PECO service territory of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia and its PA suburbs)
  • Pepco service territory of DC and Maryland (DC, Prince George's County, Montgomery County)
  • BGE service territory of Maryland (Baltimore City, Ann Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard Counties)
By registering for this event you commit to attend live, at the time of the event. If you can no longer attend, please let Rebecca Lamb (rlamb@need.org) and/or Celeste Shea (celeste.shea@exeloncorp.com) know 24 hours before the event. Repeat no-shows will not be able to register for future events or offered staff opportunities.  No-shows at events take resources away from other STEM Academy offerings.
