Keynote - Dr. Leon Assael is Professor in Public Health and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at University of California San Francisco. He is Chair of the Board of the American Dental Education Association and Dean Emeritus of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Nationally known as a visionary lecturer, Assael has also been the recipient of many national awards for his accomplished leadership including the America’s Promise Award for advancements in oral health from President George W. Bush.

Ms. Evelyn Ireland has been the voice of the dental benefits industry for 25 years as the Executive Director of the National Association of Dental Plans. Ireland has over 30 years of experience as a trade association CEO and over 45 years of experience in government and insurance. In 2006, she was named by Insurance Newscast as one of the “100 Most Powerful People in the Insurance Industry.”

 

 

Dr. Sean Boynes is a Dentist Anesthesiologist currently serving as the Director of Inter-professional Practice at the DentaQuest Institute overseeing programs focused on the integration and coordination of care. Connecting oral health with overall health is a practice he believes will have the greatest impact in improving overall health in economically-challenged communities. He is a well know author and is recognized for his work in health policy and clinical care.


Patrick Allen, new OHA director, is charged with bringing more transparency and efficiencies to Oregon’s own approach to weathering the winds of change in policy, healthcare funding and access to care across the state. Allen will set the course for OHA’s 4,500 plus employees and a two-year budget of more than $20.5 billion.
