Traumatic Brain Injury
This webinar will be an overview of traumatic brain injury (TBI). We will discuss the following: normal physiology of the brain, pathophysiology of TBI (primary and secondary brain injury), neurologic assessment (Modified Glasgow Coma Scale), stabilization, treatment, and prognosis. We will also discuss relevant articles.

Dr. Tallaj graduated from Western University of Health Sciences’ College of Veterinary Medicine in California. She then completed a one year small animal medicine and surgery internship at Oradell Animal
Hospital in New Jersey. After her internship, she completed a 3-year residency in emergency and critical care medicine at Oradell Animal
Hospital. Dr. Tallaj has special interests in trauma, sepsis, and shock and she joined the NorthStar VETS emergency team in 2021.
