Transforming Workforce Development Models in Cybersecurity and Health Care

The cybersecurity workforce faces a projected shortfall of 1.5 million professionals by the year 2020 and the health care professions will add approximately 2.3 million jobs by 2024.  Workforce needs in both of these dynamically evolving fields are acute and immediate.  In these fields where dynamic and uncertain changes are driving rapidly evolving workforce needs, traditional workforce development approaches may need to be reexamined.

Through a combination of expert speakers and audience discussion, this half day symposium will:

  • Explore the evolving nature of work in these two fields;
  • Examine the efficacy of current workforce development strategies;
  • Identify emerging research priorities to influence policy and practice.
