IDEAS 2016 positions Arizona and Sonora as an efficient mega region for trade and transportation with an educational conference, networking, tours and expo. Each year IDEAS focuses on an industry that drives economic growth in the Arizona-Sonora region. The theme this year is mining innovation.

Day 3: ASARCO Mine Tours
Thursday, May 5, 2016, 9:00 am to 2:30 pm
ASARCO’s Mission Mine

Visit ASARCO’s Mission Complex that has produced 134 million lbs. of copper in concentrate from an open pit that is 2.5 miles long, 1.5 miles wide and 1,200 feet deep.
9 - 11:30 am: 1st mine tour by bus from conference hotels. Buses depart at 9 am and return at 11:30 am.
12 - 2:30 pm: 2nd mine tour by bus from conference hotels. Buses depart at 12 pm and return at 2:30 pm.

Conference Hotels

For discounted accommodations we have contracted a room block for IDEAS 2016 guests at these hotels, and we will be providing bus transportation between these hotels and the events. All the hotels are located near the Tucson International Airport, approx. 6 miles from the Port of Tucson.

IDEAS bus service is offered at the conference hotels. Should you be staying in a different hotel, please arrange for your own transportation to the conference hotels to catch the buses.
