How does your business pitch SCORE?

Register to compete to see if you have the best business model that can lead to increased revenue and profit growth - the model that best demostrates optimum customer and investor appeal. Winners will receive cash awards:

FIRST PLACE: $5,000

SECOND PLACE: $2,500

THIRD PLACE: $1,000

Eligibility

Only businesses within the Richmond MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Area) that are start-ups or in business less than one year, defined by when they received their first dollar of revenue, will be considered. A non-profit, franchise, extension of an existing busines, or purchase of an existing business are ineligible.

• Register between February 15 and March 16, 2018
• The Competition Workbook and name of assigned mentor will be emailed to registered contestants on March 19, 2018
• The Competition Workbook must be completed and submitted on or before April 18, 2018

During this competition, there are several opportunities for publicity, photographs and other public uses of the contestant’s images and their businesses. Therefore, please read the following model release:

ENTRY CONSTITUTES PERMISSION TO give to SCORE its assigns, licensees, successors in interest, legal representatives, and chapters the irrevocable right, without limitation, to use and publish the contestant’s name (or any fictional name), address (city and state), picture, portrait, image, photograph, video footage, or other likeness and/or voice as well as video and text of any interview or comment a contestant gives for advertising or promotional purposes in all forms, in all media and in all manners, without any restriction as to changes or alterations (including but not limited to composite or distorted representations or derivative works made in any medium) for advertising, trade, promotion, exhibition or any other lawful purposes.  The contestant waives any right to inspect or approve the photograph(s) or video(s) or finished version(s) incorporating the photograph(s) or video(s), including written copy that may be created and appear in connection therein, without limitation, further payment, consideration or notice.

The contestant releases and agrees to hold harmless SCORE, his or her assigns, licensees, successors in interest, legal representatives and chapters from any liability by virtue of any blurring, distortion, alteration, optical illusion, or use in composite form whether intentional or otherwise, that may occur or be produced during filming or in the taking of the photographs, or in any processing occurring during the completion of the finished product. The contestant waives any claims they may have based on any usage of the photographs, video or works derived thereof.

ENTRY CONSTITUTES CONFIRMATION THAT THE CONTESTANT attests to the following: to being 18 years of age or older and competent to give permission; agrees that this release shall be binding on me, my legal representatives, heirs and assigns; and, I have read this release and understand its contents
