We know that data is one of your most valuable resources.  We also know that data will be increasingly important in relation to the new federal monitoring system.  Thus, data management or managing your data as a valuable resource is extremely important in our current environment.  But what makes data valuable?  Is it the source?  Is it quantity?  Is it the format?  No, the value of data depends on what you do with it.  And the first step in unlocking its potential lies in data management.  So what do you know about data management?  What do you need to know?  Is your data easy to access, clean, integrated and storeable over your five year grant?  And do you have a system in place for analyzing data as it flows into your organization?
This Data Symposium will tackle all of these tough questions.

Through guest speakers and panel presentations we will dive deep into all aspects of data management.  This will include the following components:

Data access - refers to your ability to get and retrieve information wherever it is so you can spend more time using your data  - not just trying to find it.

Data quality -  making sure your data is accurate and useable for its intended purpose.

Data integration - the ability to combine different types of data.

Data federation - the ability to look at data from multiple sources without the need to move and store the combined view in a new location.

Data governance - rules and decisions for managing your organizations data including data privacy.

Master data management - unifies and manages all the data that is common and essential to all areas of your organization.

Data streaming - involves analyzing data as it moves by applying logic to the data, recognizing patterns in the data, and filtering for multiple uses as it flows throughout your organization.
