Newborn Hearing Assessment: Evoked Potentials Workshop

Welcome to the information page for Interacoustics Academy Newborn Hearing Assessement: Evoked Potentials Workshop. The course will take place from June 5 to 7, 2023, at the Interacoustics office in Eden Prairie, MN, in the Ron Perlt training room.

The workshop is a 3-day, in-person course designed to deliver theoretical and hands-on training for evoked potential testing in newborn infants. It covers auditory brainstem response (ABR) assessment and auditory steady state response (ASSR) testing. The course will equip attendees with the knowledge and the skills to perform accurate hearing threshold assessments in the newborn population.

Case studies, demonstrations and practical sessions will be used to familiarize attendees with evoked potentials equipment, patient preparation, testing technique, establishing threshold, interpretation of results, and managing straight forward and complex scenarios. This course is ideal for any clinician new to evoked potentials testing in young infants, or for more experienced clinicians seeking a refresher or update to their clinical practice.

Fee: $450 (Special discounted rate, regular fee $600)

Educational Credits: maximum of 1.8 AAA CEUs

Please note: this course does NOT cover older children / adult hearing assessment or neurological ABR testing; the focus will be exclusively on threshold assessment and hearing loss identification in newborn infants.

Amanda Goodhew

 

Amanda Goodhew, MSc

International Clinical Trainer, Interacoustics Academy

Amanda holds a Master's degree in Audiology from the University of Southampton, Southampton, England. She has extensive experience holding senior audiologist positions in numerous NHS (National Health Service) hospitals and clinics, where her primary focus has been pediatric audiology. Her specific areas of interest are electrophysiology, neonatal diagnostics and amplification, and the assessment and rehabilitation of patients with complex needs.

Han Nguyen AuD Han Nguyen, Au.D.

Han Nguyen, Au.D. received her clinical doctorate in audiology from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, MI. She is a Clinical Specialist for Electrophysiology and Vestibular Applications at Interacoustics US. Her clinical experience ranges from pediatrics in a hospital setting to adult diagnostics and vestibular assessment at a sub-specialty ENT.
