In this interactive session, Jenna Hauschild, CPA, and Jessica Kinnard, CPA, local tax accounting experts with FORVIS LLP, will provide a tax update and thorough overview of recently passed tax legislation as well as insight into pending legislative proposals.

Their presentation will be of special interest to financial advisors who are helping their clients navigate the new tax landscape. They’ll employ a practical approach and include discussion on the following topics:

  1. Changes to the RMD rules under the Secure Act as well as recent IRS regulation proposals
  2. The implications of several recent court rulings for Charitable gift planning
  3. An overview of how cryptocurrency is treated by the IRS and a summary of the rules that the IRS is applying to this new asset class
  4. The tax implications for the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 and the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Jenna Hauschild and Jessica Kinnard have a combined 21 years of experience providing tax and accounting services to clients. They are FORVIS Private Client advisors and offer sophisticated income, gift, and estate tax compliance, consulting and planning services to individuals, families, businesses, fiduciaries, and more. They use a forward-looking approach to help their clients grow and preserve assets, defer income, and reduce taxes.

Jessica and Jenna are both members of the American Institute of CPAs, Missouri Society of CPAs, and Kansas City Estate Planning Society. Jessica serves as the Fundamentals/Intermediate program Committee Chair for the Kansas City Estate Planning Symposium and First Year Director for the Kansas City Estate Planning Society. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, with a B.S. degree in accounting in 2011 and graduated the following year with an M.S.A. degree with taxation emphasis.

In addition to the memberships listed above, Jenna is a Kansas Society of CPAs and Starlight Planned Giving Council member and serves as Treasurer for the Kansas City Estate Planning Symposium. She is a 2007 graduate of The University of Kansas, Lawrence, with a B.S. degree in accounting and a 2009 graduate with a Masters in Accounting degree.
