The Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (MDGLCC) in collaboration with Community Partners will hold its 1st “Symposium on Aging” with the objective to educate and explore the needs of the LGBT community.
“The Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce is proud to be the business voice of LGBT & Allied businesses in south Florida. One of our continual goals is to create a dialogue that will lead towards inclusion and equality for the LGBT Community in all areas of society”. said Steve Adkins, MDGLCC president. “One of the least addressed/understood demographics is our older adult population. The Symposium on Aging seeks to open a discussion and, create an understanding of the needs and expectations of this powerful and growing segment of the LGBT Community”.
The "Symposium on Aging" event will consist of speakers and forums that will address several topics of importance to this segment of the community such as Care, Health, Legal, and Finance. Topics and speakers include; Health Care Continuum, Geriatric Neurology, UM Center of Aging, Keynote Richard C. Milstein, Esq., Estate Trust and Tax Planning, S.A.G.E. Attendees will also be able to interact with vendors who will have booths showcasing their products and services. Social Work & Nursing CEU's.
The fee for admission, which includes seated lunch and refreshments throughout the day, is $35 for members of the MDGLCC and $55 for non-members of the MDGLCC. Event is open to the public.
