Please join the Oregon Chapter of the ACC and Holland & Knight LLP on June 13 from 4:30pm - 6:30pm for a panel discussion featuring several women leading in-house legal departments.  The panel will be preceded by a wine reception highlighting the work of the local chapter of Girls Inc., a nonprofit organization that offers programming to inspire girls age 6-18 to be strong, smart, and bold.

Panelists include Magali Sosa-Tirado, Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel for R.B. Pamplin Corporation; Christine Uri, Chief Legal & Human Resources Officer with ENGIE Insight and Katie Abbott, Senior Vice President of Legal & People of Puppet.  The panel will be moderated by Holland & Knight partner Shannon Armstrong.  Several high school aged members of Girls Inc. have also been invited to attend attend the panel discussion and to participate in the question/answer portion. 

A few of the topics to be covered are:

  • How the legal department can work with their internal business partners to promote diversity in the workplace
  • Best practice for building a diverse team in the legal department and with outside counsel
  • Strategies for combatting implicit bias in the profession
  • Advice for the next generation interested in leadership positions in law/business

Panel Discussion - 5:00pm

This CLE is eligible for one Access to Justice credit.

Magali Sosa-Tirado

Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel, R.B. Pamplin Corporation 

As Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel, Magali leads the legal team at R.B. Pamplin Corporation, and has deep industry experience in media, restaurants, online retail, construction, wineries and agriculture. She is also active in the community and serves on the Oregon State Bar House of Delegates and on the Board of Trustees for LaSalle Catholic College Preparatory.  She holds a  Masters of Laws (LL.M.) in International and Comparative Law from Georgetown University Law Center.


Christine Uri

Chief Legal & Human Resources Officer, ENGIE Insight

Christine oversees ENGIE Insight’s legal and HR teams, including Human Resource Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Corporate Responsibility, Employee Engagement, Safety and Privacy. In addition, she is responsible for Sales Operations and Data Governance, and she serves as the company’s Ethics Officer. Christine graduated from The Evergreen State College with a Bachelor of Arts in interdisciplinary studies, and she earned her Juris Doctor cum laude from Boston College Law School.  To learn more about Christine and ENGIE Insight, please click here

Shannon Armstrong
