Las Madrinas Tribute was founded by Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame 2008 inductee, Franciscan Sister Alicia Cuarón, who is the director of Bienestar Family Services at Centro San Juan Diego. Bienestar helps low-income, Spanish-speaking individuals and families with education, legal services, leadership and small business skills.

The primary purpose of Las Madrinas Tribute is to honor individuals and organizations in the community that personify the spirit of “La Madrina”. This is to nurture and insure the personal and spiritual development of another individual.

Please join us in honoring the following distingushed individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and community services to support the Bienestar Family Services Programs:

La Madrina Award: Grace Velazquez
Presented to female role models who demonstrate untiring dedication in the community—similar to the spiritual support provided by a godmother.

El Corazón Special Recognition Award: Gina Del Castillo
Awarded to one who volunteers with love and dedication—furthering the growth of the Bienestar programs with “heart.”

La Estrella Special Recognition Award: Spirit of Christ
Bestowed to those who shine brightly for their community volunteer efforts.

El Rebozo Special Recognition Award: Keith Montoya, Doc1 Solutions
Given to an individual who offers personal and financial resources to embrace the efforts of the Bienestar programs—similar to the way a shawl embraces the body to keep it warm.
