  Weekend Men's Retreat

Join us in healing the boy and rediscovering his awe and wonder.

Join us in strengthening and developing the best parts of the man.

Join us in giving birth to wisdom, the formation of maturity, and the evolution of discernment.

This retreat will explore the possibilities for us to create a fully developed, adult male personality by healthily integrating the boy and the man.  We will approach this goal through poetry, video clips, storytelling, guided exercises, discussion, and ceremony.  We will work to bring out the best in each man and have it honored by the other men.  The group will be limited to 25 men to allow for maximum participation and interaction.  We encourage early registration to ensure a spot at the retreat and to access the lower early registration fee.

This retreat will be held at Camp Whittier in the mountains behind Santa Barbara, CA.  We will be on 55 acres of land populated by oaks and deer, not far from Lake Cachuma.  Camp Whittier provides bunk style accomodations and meals prepared by their on-site chef.  We will have access to a wood-paneled lodge and outdoor fire pits.  This promises to be an ideal setting for open, honest communication in an environment of physical and emotional safety.

Tom McGee and Richard Palmer are dedicated to helping men develop the wisdom and maturity that is their potential.  We have been working with men in groups and individually for several decades, assisting them in growing into healthy relationships and fulfilling lives.  "Healing the Boy, Strengthening the Man" is the culmination of all of our work.

We recognize that we men carry a boy inside us that sometimes drives our words and actions.  That boy holds all the wounds, dreams, patterns, and desires we developed during childhood and adolescence.  He arises in our world at times when insecurity, doubt and fear are clutching at us, grasping at our lives in a way that can confuse us, defeat us, or tear at relationships.  That boy also holds the key to wonder and awe, mystery, and joyful relationship.

We also live through the man we have become.  All the lessons we have abosorbed, all the skills we have developed, all the wisdom congealing in our souls, are presented to the world through this man.  He struggles to bring his best to himself and others and often feels alone in this struggle.

We have the potential to heal this boy and bring out his best parts.  We have the potential to reinforce and strengthen the man in us.

WE HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO INTEGRATE THE BEST PARTS OF THIS BOY AND THIS MAN SO WE DO NOT FEEL CONFLICTED OR DIVIDED.

We also have potential to give birth to the wisdom, knowledge, and discernment of the budding elder, who can take the best parts of the boy and the man and fashion a being who is equipped and ready to give tremendously to his world.

Join us in healing the boy and rediscovering his awe and wonder.

Join us in strengthening and developing the best parts of the man.

Join us in giving birth to wisdom, the formation of maturity, and the evolution of discernment.
