In our modern culture, we don't like ordeals or messes.  We like things tidy and clean and predictable.  This is a problem.  West African elder and shaman Malidoma Some says "If the fire in the young man is not tempered and worked with by the elders, the young man will burn down the village.”  All we have to do is look around to see that that is already happening. 

Whether a male is appropriately a boy at seventeen or inappropriately a boy at sixty-seven, he needs an ordeal to slowly cook into healthy manhood.

On this retreat weekend, we will enter the holy ground of ordeal.  We invite you to join us in a sacred vessel to embrace the crises of our lives and move more fully into aliveness.

We will be staying in a secluded retreat center in a beautiful natural environment in which we can be held and supported in doing this very important work.
