About Our Speaker:
Pina Marino, Program, Volunteer and Community Outreach Coordinator, Caledon Dufferin Victim Services
Pina is a Registered Social Service Worker and a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). She has worked in clinical settings with a psychology firm, both as counsellor and psychometrist, under the supervision of three clinical psychologists, assisting with many psychological evaluations and assessments. Pina is a member of PEAPN, Vice-Chair of Caledon's Meals-on-Wheels, a member of the Sexual Assault Review Team as well as the Domestic Assault Review Team for Caledon and Dufferin.
Pina participates as an Advisor on the Board of Shift Happens, an agency creating a national initiative for at-risk youth, involved in correctional services and the prison system.
Learning Objectives:
1. Understanding the importance of safety planning and strategies to engage when supporting vulnerable older adults and victims of elder abuse.
2. Reviewing key steps and actions to take when developing safety plans.
3. Review of services provided by Victim Services, Ministry of the Attorney General (MAG).
4. Learning about the many tools, resources and publications available.
