Breakfast and Goodbyes

Accommodations:

The Silver Spur Guest Ranch http://www.silverspur-ranch.com provides all the meals for the retreat - breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks in between.  There is also a large refrigerator if you prefer to bring in some beverages of your own such as beer or wine.  The ranch boasts an oversized inground swimming pool, as well as horseback riding, walking trails, a fossil pit for exploring and scenery that is sure to end even the worse writers block. The cabins and rooms are fully furnished with private baths and are air conditioned.  There are televisions in each room.  Linens are provided but please plan to bring your own toiletry items such as blowdryers, shampoo, soap, etc.

The price per person at the ranch is $128 per adult per night if horseback riding.  $99 per adult per night if not horseback riding. This fee includes all 3 meals (large meals, as well as snacks and beverages throughout the day). A one night deposit is required to reserve your space.

The Silver Spur is located approximately 1 hour from San Antonio in the town of Bandera.  There is a taxi service that guests may hire to bring them to the ranch but arrangements need to be made ahead of time. The town of Bandera is the proclaimed Cowboy Capital of the World and is full of unique shops to satisfy your search for authentic Texas treasures. http://www.banderacowboycapital.com.  If a night out at a real Texas Honky Tonk is what you'd enjoy; there are several right in town where you can try out your two step skills. If you intend to lengthen your stay in Texas, the River Walk in San Antonio is world-renowed and of course the Alamo is right there in town.

In the past, the retreat has been an intimate gathering of writers and staff members and everyone has come away with memories, education and at least one or two new story ideas.  Door prizes will include a Kindle Fire, as well as several raffle baskets of books and other donated items.  Every registered writer receives a goody bag at the welcome reception.

Anyone with questions, should contact Rhonda Penders directly at rpenders@thewildrosepress.com
