Exploring Innovative Transportation & Technology Opportunities for Greenville and the Upstate
Automated Transport, Internet of Things, and GreenVillages Development: Potential Applications
You are invited to join the Greenville County Economic Development Corporation (GCEDC), Ten at the Top and other local leaders for an interactive workshop to explore short and long-term innovative transportation and technology opportunities for Greenville County and the Greater Upstate Region.
There has been much discussion in recent months around Automated Transport Vehicles with Greenville County and Greenville Spartanburg International Airport as potential deployments for the innovative technology.
During this workshop, participants will have an opportunity to learn first-hand about some of the potential projects that could help Greenville and the Upstate move to the cutting edge of transportation technology.
The program will include several presentations from local and national leaders. Participants will also have an opportunity to be part of the discussions on what opportunities have the best potential for the Upstate.
Among the scheduled speakers are Mike Cotter, Global Strategic Marketing Director for Club Car, LLC, Dave Edwards, CEO of GSP International Airport and South Carolina State Representative Garry Smith. There will also be group discussions about GreenVillages economic development, potential SmartCity Applications and the opportunities around research & testing.
The workshop will be held from 9 am-1 pm on Monday, November 30, at Greenville County Square, at 301 University Ridge, and will include lunch. This is a free event, but interested participants are asked to register in advance.

1:30 pm - A special Internet of Things (IoT) session is being added to focus on corporate solutions to smart community challenges. Professionals will "Envision Greenville" with smarter energy, water, waste, sewer, safety, and communications and will seek to identify ways to establish ladders of opportunity to improve the quality of life and provide better connectivity and access to work, education, healthcare, and recreation.
