This presentation is the second in a year-long focus on Martin Luther: Teacher for Today, commemorating 500 years since the Lutheran Reformation.We'll join Dr. Martin Lohrmann of Wartburg Seminary in exploring the themes of Spirit & Service in the Lutheran Confessions.

1:00-2:00: Citizenship and Service – Reformation views of how Christian faith impacts local communities
2:15-3:00: Free People Serve – Biblical and Reformation foundations about how freedom and service go together
Time for discussion will be included in each of these sessions.
Martin Lohrmann is Assistant Professor of Lutheran Confessions & Heritage at Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa, where he lives with his wife and three children. He is the author of Book of Harmony: Spirit and Service in the Lutheran Confessions (Fortress, 2016) and co-editor of 1-2 Samuel, 1-2 Kings, 1-2 Chronicles in the Reformation Commentary on Scripture Series (IVP Academic, 2016). Before teaching at Wartburg Seminary, he served as a pastor of congregations in Ohio and Philadelphia, PA.
