CRCA Codes Seminar 

 
 

Due to public concerns with the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), CRCA has postponed this seminar with to be late May or early June. The exact date will be determined in the coming weeks.

Bill McHugh, CRCA’s Executive Director and Mark Graham, NRCA’s Vice President of Technical Services will present an important Roofing Technical Educational Seminar developed for Architects, Specifiers, Code Officials, Roofing Contractors and Roofing/Building Envelope Consultants.

Topics to be covered include the International Building Code (IBC) and International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), Chicago’s New Building Code based on the International Codes, with Roofing Specific content, plus the amendments made to the IBC, IECC, by Chicago and Illinois during their adoption of the codes.With the August 1, 2020 implementation of the new Chicago Building Code based on theI-Codes, it’s important to familiarize yourself with the changes now and learn how these will impact future projects.

Learning Objectives - Participants will be able to:

  1. Analyze the roofing related sections of the International Building Code, International Energy Conservation Code, including, definitions and technical requirements
  2. Describe the key roofing related revisions / additions to the International Building Code, International Energy Conservation Code and International Existing Building Code that resulted in the new Chicago Building, Energy and Existing Buildings Code.
  3. Identify the new references to the ASCE 7-16 wind uplift requirements.
  4. Summarize about the reroofing and air barrier specific amendments in the Illinois Energy Conservation Code and the Chicago Codes.
