Presented by Joanie Gerken, CATF/OGA, this course is designed to give teachers the tools to improve students' writing skills. The foundation of communication through written expression is the basic sentence. The course covers sentence structure as well as paragraph development and composition. Sentence structure is presented in a sequential order beginning with the simple sentence and moving to complex sentences using multisensory strategies to develop the basic concepts and skills of written expression. The curriculum can be started in grade one and is applicable through adult education.
