2016 Junebug ArtFest Visual Artists & Crafters Application 

Visual artists and crafters working in all media are invited to take part in the 2016 Metuchen Junebug ArtFest, which will be held from 6:00 – 10:00 pm every Saturday evening in June 2016 (June 4, 11, 18, 25) throughout the streets of downtown Metuchen, New Jersey.

THIS REGISTRATION FORM AND OTHER REQUESTED INFORMATION IS DUE BY APRIL 15, 2016 IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2016 JUNEBUG ARTFEST.

Please note that by submitting this application, you are not guaranteed acceptance into the event; completing this on-line application will register you for the event and initiate the application review process.

For your application to be considered, please do the following:

• Submit no more than five JPEG images of your artwork for any of the three juried venues of interest to you:  (1) Outdoor Sidewalk Exhibitors; (2) Window Gallery Competition, (3) Public Gallery (see general descriptions in next section and click here for further detail); applications without representative samples will not be considered. You may apply for one, two or all three venues for 2016.
  
  
• Email your JPEG images in accordance with the instructions on your registration receipt (send via email to junebugartfestival@gmail.com).
  
  
• Submit the total amount of your non-refundable fees online at www.junebugartfest.com by clicking on the support button in the bottom right corner of the home page. Fees are cumulative and are non-refundable, and you must follow the specific submission instructions on your registration receipt for each venue for which you apply.
  
  
• Applicants will be notified if selected in the early / mid-May timeframe.

ALL ARTWORK MUST BE ORIGINAL and conceived and executed solely by the artist or crafter. Any artist who exhibits work substantially different from what was submitted will be asked to leave.

This is a rain or shine event.

Selected artists and crafters who choose to exhibit will be assigned a space on either Main Street or New Street. Outdoor exhibitors may NOT use tents, must provide their own tables and must be present at their assigned space during the event. Parking assistance will be available.

BY SUBMITTING THE APPLICATION FORM, YOU AGREE TO OR ACKNOWLEDGE ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:

  1.  I agree to hold harmless the Metuchen Arts Council, Borough of Metuchen, Metuchen Area Chamber of Commerce, its members and all other businesses involved in the Junebug ArtFest from claims of or liability to third parties, or for any loss or damage of any kind arising out of the display of artwork and my participation in the Junebug ArtFest.  Insurance coverage for exhibited artwork is my responsibility alone.

  2.  I agree that I will not exhibit or display work that depicts or includes explicit sexual acts or themes, nude human figures, or depicts violence or vulgarity including vulgar language. The Junebug ArtFest is a family event, and I agree that the ultimate decision about whether a particular piece is acceptable for display at this family event resides with the Metuchen Arts Council, the Borough of Metuchen, and the Metuchen Area Chamber of Commerce. I acknowledge that the Chamber reserves the right to ask an artist to remove items or leave if we determine the work violates this restriction.

  3.  I understand that artists and crafters who are accepted as Sidewalk Exhibitors will be assigned a space on either Main Street or New Street. Sidewalk exhibitors may not use tents, must provide their own tables (8’ x 4’ or equivalent) and must be present at their assigned space during the event on the Saturday evening(s) chosen by the artist from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Entranceways to businesses or residences and all doors must be kept accessible. Sidewalks are public thoroughfares that must remain accessible at all times. This is a rain or shine event. In case of inclement weather, I understand that I am expected to use my best judgment regarding my exhibit.

  4.  I understand that all exhibited artwork must be original artwork, conceived and executed solely by me. I understand exhibiting work that is substantially different from the representative samples that I submitted prohibit me from participating in future Junebug events.

  5.  I agree to remove my artwork at the conclusion of the event, unless a prior agreement with the owner of the business where the art is exhibited has been arranged. Any work remaining by the evening of July 1^st will incur a storage fee of $5 per day, payable to the Metuchen Area Chamber of Commerce.
