Description: In the Level 1 professional development, CAT facilitators modeled three forms of oral storytelling for teachers to demonstrate the progression from written word to active engagement, drawing specific links to how each form impacts a child's literacy skills.

In this Level 2 workshop, teachers will review the interactive techniques and storytelling skillls and explore how they can be integrated into daily practice to engage students in the Common Core English Language Arts Standards.

Particular attention will be paid to strengthening each teacher’s practice as outlined in Charlotte Danielson's "Framework for Teaching," including Management of Transitions, Teacher Interactions with Students, Learning Activities and Quality of Questions and Prompts.

Who should attend: This professional development is open to all NYC DOE and CBO early childhood educators who have completed the Level 1 Interactive Storytelling Workshop.
