Ballona Community Restoration Event 

The Ballona Wetlands Community Restoration Project focuses on removing invasive iceplant and other non-native vegetation that can impact native California plants such as pickleweed, salt grass, and alkali weed. Participants will help to remove non-native plants by hand. 


Events are limited to 25 participants, so please sign up soon!

Reminder: Vaccination strongly encouraged. Please plan to wear a mask if unvaccinated.

Parking is behind 303 Culver Blvd. The restoration site is about 0.3 miles east on the south side of Culver Blvd. Note: The restoration site is not through the gate in the parking lot. This is part of the Ballona Reserve but not where we will be working. 

Site Location

The restoration site is about 0.3 miles east of the parking lot (see below). 
We will meet in the parking lot at 303 Culver Blvd, Playa Del Rey and walk to the restoration site together. Use caution when walking to the event site after crossing Nicholson St as this is a busy intersection in the morning  

There are NO restrooms at the event site.

  • Gloves will be provided for those who are unable to bring their own. Any loaned gloves will then be washed after the restoration event.
