Lecture and Interactive Hands-on Workshop

The focus and awareness of esthetic dentistry has never been greater. Today’s patients have heightened expectations and desires. Understanding the desires and meeting patient’s demands has become increasing complex and challenging. Case design and case presentation will be an integral portion of the course. We will discuss useful tools than will improve patient communication and case presentation for esthetically motivated patients. This course will review the principles of facial esthetics, smile morphology and design and provide practitioners the tools necessary to deliver remarkably beautiful results. Both traditional and digital case design will be reviewed. During the hand-on portion of the program, participants will apply esthetic principles and philosophies to designing an esthetic result with a variety of different techniques. 

During this program practitioners will:

• Gain a better understanding of facial esthetics and be able to apply those principles to clinical cases.
• Gain better insight into what motivates the esthetic patient and how to deal with difficult clinical situations.
• Practice esthetic design principles during the hands-on program.
• Learn how to tackle even the most esthetically challenging clinical cases through sound case design and presentation.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Geissberger graduated from University of the Pacific in 1991 obtaining his dental degree and was elected to Omicron Kappa Upsilon as a student. He immediately returned to the school and has taught for 27 years. He later obtained a Masters of Arts in Educational Psychology from University of the Pacific. From 2000-2015 he served as Department Chair of Restorative Dentistry. Currently he is Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Dentistry at the University of the Pacific. He directed the University’s Aesthetic and Complex Care Clinic and teaches many hands-on CE courses in Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Geissberger has served as President of the National Chapter of Omicron Kappa. Dr Geissberger has numerous publications including a textbook entitled Esthetic Dentistry in Clinical Practice for Wiley-Blackwell. He has presented nationally and internationally giving over 400 continuing education programs. Additionally, he is a Certified Personal Trainer. He maintains a private practice focusing on reconstructive and esthetic dentistry in Greenbrae, Ca.
