The U.S. Army Leisure Travel Services Office arranged for a special Army Birthday Ball hotel room rate with complimentary (as available) shuttle to the Detroit Yacht Club from the Atheneum in Greektown. In order to take advantage of this special group rate, reservations must be made by May 19.
To reserve your room, call the Atheneum at (800) 772-2323. You must mention "Army Ball" to get the reduced rate of $155.00 per room plus 15% tax (based on double occupancy.) Valet parking is also available for $12.00 per night.

The Association of the United States Army Arsenal of Democracy Chapter cordially invites you to attend the 240th Army Birthday Ball.
This year’s event will be held at The Detroit Yacht Club in Detroit, MI, beginning with a reception and receiving line at 5:30 PM, followed by dinner and the formal program at 6:30 PM.
The Army Birthday Ball is open to Army Leaders, Soldiers, Civilians, Military Family Members, Veterans and Industry Partners wanting to attend & support the U.S. Army & the Detroit Arsenal Community.
Highlights of the 240th Army Birthday Ball will include:
- Formal Portraits (5:30 PM – 7:00 PM)
- Photo Booth with fun props (7:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
- Special Keynote Speaker
- Cake Cutting Ceremony
- DJ Dancing (following dinner program – 11:00 PM)
Menu: Choose One (All Entrees include Salad, Vegetable, Starch and Dessert)
- 8oz. Filet Mignon with Fresh Rosemary Demi Glaze
- Grilled Atlantic Salmon with Sweet Chili Glaze
- Grilled Portobello Mushrooms stacked with Roasted Vegetables, served over Brown Rice
Dress Code:
The Army Birthday Ball is a formal event, and the attire for civilians is formal evening wear or black tie. Military uniform is Army Service Dress/Dress Mess/Class A with white shirt and bow tie, or equivalent for other services.

On the lower portion of the registration page, you will enter the total number of each meal option at each cost level. If you are purchasing for a group and wish to be seated together, please indicate that in the Special/Seating Requests section. If you are part of a group and are each registering individually, a common group identifier should be provided in the comments section by each registrant. We will make every effort to accommodate all requests. Tables will seat 8 or 10 guests. If you would like to sponsor a Soldier &/or their guest, please add their dinner meal quantity to the Dinner Options section on the registration page. If the Soldier &/or guest name is unknown, AUSA will work with TACOM LCMC to identify a Soldier &/or guest.
