HALL of FAME

Awards & Scholarship Event | April 27, 2019

Dear Friends of KCKCC,

Hello! As the new President of Kansas City Kansas Community College, I would first like to introduce myself and say how honored I am to be a part of this great community. I have heard many wonderful things about the Mid-America Hall of Fame Awards & Scholarship Event. I am thrilled to announce this year’s event will take place on Saturday, April 27th, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at our Dr. Thomas R. Burke Technical Education Center.

This signature event is crucial to the success of our student scholarship program, and you are the key to us reaching our goal to raise $150,000. Last year, for the second year in a row, the Mid-America Hall of Fame Awards & Scholarship Event raised just over $100,000. Your contributions helped more than 115 students get closer to achieving their educational dreams through scholarships.

You are helping students like Tha, who said:

“I came from a refugee camp, and no one in my family can help me with my education, you showed me that there is someone who does not know me, but cares about my life and education. I promise that if I have a chance, I will help others like you did for me”.

And Cassie, who wrote,

“It is the kind and generous people like you who help people like me. Your donation shows me you have faith in me, I have support, and acknowledgment during a time when I need encouragement. I am motivated to work hard to earn a social work degree so I can become a therapist. This is the type of degree you do not choose for yourself, you choose it for others. You are providing a stepping stone for my journey!”

There are many others with such inspiring and moving stories, and so many more who also need your help through scholarships. We are continually facing state budget cuts. Financial aid and scholarships are vital in helping our students meet their educational goals. These are students who live and work in your community, support your businesses, and become your future leaders. The money we raise at the Mid-America Hall of Fame Awards & Scholarship Event makes an impact – we are asking for your support to help make a difference!

I hope you will join me in supporting the Mid-America Hall of Fame & Scholarship Award this year. We have added some new sponsorship options to provide more choices for our donors. I also look forward to meeting you in person if I have not already had the pleasure. Thank you for welcoming me into your wonderful community, I am proud to be a Blue Devil!

All my best,

Greg
