Meet your Trip Leader!

Cecile Scoon,  (Visual and Environmental Studies Major B.A. ’81 Harvard University) is a small-town civil rights lawyer in north Florida. Presently, Cecile attempts to protect the rights of those wronged at work due to their race, religion, age, disability, place of birth, or unwanted sexual advances made to them.

When not burning the midnight oil drafting lengthy pleadings, Cecile enjoys parenting her three children, 18, 20, and 23 and enjoys running and watching soccer with her best-friend, husband, and law partner, Alvin Peters.

Cecile attended National Cathedral School for Girls in DC and is fairly familiar with most of the museums in the city. With an under graduate degree in art design and a lot of art history, she is looking forward to guiding the League of Women Voters members around the capital.
