Marketing 101: The Essentials

Marketing 101: The Essentials will give you a BASIC overview of marketing and marketing practices. This interactive workshop will help you focus on your business and your customer base, resulting in a more comprehensive understanding of your business and how to market it. 

   

What You’ll Learn:

  • The Basics: positioning your product, defining and reaching your customer
  • Elements of a marketing plan
  • What media makes sense for your business, both traditional and emerging
  • Forms to help organize the process
  • Help creating a customized media plan for YOUR business

Instructor: Val Holwerda, MBA

Val Holwerda’s approach to marketing is straightforward: “Let’s start with a clean white sheet of paper and make something happen!”

This perspective echoes her motto for life and embodies her approach to business. Through mentoring, consulting, running workshops and tapping into her network of connections, Val helps entrepreneurs realize their opportunities and transform their bottom line. 

Val’s career in marketing and advertising has taken her to corporate management as the Vice President of two Fortune 500 Companies.  She also founded her own successful design and printing firm.  Val has a degree in English and an MBA with a marketing emphasis from Pepperdine University. 

She now offers her expertise to small business owners providing marketing and advertising consultancy services that place a focus on the need to “Spend money where it counts.” She has been a SCORE mentor for two years. This Workshop is based on the needs of emerging entrepreneurs as she observed them.
