Alchemy of the 8 Extraordinary Vessels:
Promoting Health, Creativity and Purpose
This class focuses on applying 8 Extraordinary Vessel treatments to help our patients cultivate health, including the ability to have purposeful self-expression in life. The extraordinary vessels can access a person’s inner workings, allowing them to connect with what is important to them in their lives. People often function at levels of qi and blood deficiency or qi and blood stagnation, related to the inability to align with an outlet for their authentic self-expression in their lives. This class will look at the Heart-Kidney Axis, with the heart knowing our purpose and passion and the kidneys housing our will and drives to create our lives. We will look at the themes of the 9 heart palaces to explore how we get stuck in our lives and how these heart palaces also hold the keys to gently moving forward with peace and purpose in our lives. This class will look at patterns and acupuncture treatmentsiii related to the 8 Extraordinary Vessels and will include acupuncture point protocols, experiential exercises, qigong, acupressure and guided meditations.

Peter Shea, L. Ac., is a practitioner of Chinese medicine. He is an instructor, a clinical supervisor and the Clinic Director at Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in Asheville, NC. He has been a professional bodyworker for over 20 years and a Licensed Acupuncturist since 2003. He teaches workshops on the 8 Extraordinary Vessels, Tui Na, Qigong and the I Ching. He is the author of “Alchemy of the Extraordinary: a Journey into the Heart of the Meridian Matrix,” published by Soul Pivot Press. He practices Chinese Medicine at Mountain Oasis Health in Asheville. He lives outside of Asheville, NC in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
