This retreat is specifically designed for white people to explore their racial conditioning. Deepening self-awareness around issues of race is tender and vulnerable work. We agree with Ruth King’s recommendation that it is best done in racially homogeneous groups that support truth telling, kind nonjudgemental receptivity and mindfulness. We will follow the Racial Affinity group guidelines stated on the Triangle Insight webpage. Please review the Racial Affinity Group Guidelines and Ruth’s King’s Group Guidlines before registering for the retreat. Upon registering you will also be attesting that you have read these guidelines.
Using the Insight Dialogue guidelines we will explore our experience of race and our capacity to listen at deeper levels internally and socially to dynamics that sustain misperception and systemic suffering. With mindfulness established, together we may see what we might not see alone.
Please Note these Prerequisites for Attending the Retreat.
