Join us for a day of laughs and fitness to support Sunset Playhouse, the area's premiere community theatre and home for exciting performing arts fun.  The Break-A-Leg Costume Run and Walk is a 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk, the perfect way to support the work of The Playhouse while celebrating with friends and neighbors at The Playhouse's stunning facility and the surrounding running and walking path through beautiful Elm Grove.

This isn't any ordinary Run/Walk, though.  Oh, no--when it's a Playhouse event, there's bound to be a fun twist.  This is a Costume Run and Walk, which means that runners and walkers are encouraged to take long strides decked out in their most stupendous costumes!  Prizes will be awarded for overall Male and Female Runner, top finishers in all age divisions and for Best Costume.  You don't need to be an Olympian to join us for this event, you just need a good sense of humor, a nice dose of creativity and a pair of running shoes.

This family friendly event begins and ends at The Sunset Playhouse, 800 Elm Grove Road in the heart of Elm Grove.  Registration and packet pick up begins at 8:30am the day of the Run/Walk, and costumed revelers will leave the starting line at 9:30am.  The end-of-race party will feature Root Beer Floats for all entrants compliments of Stevens Point Brewing Company and fantastic entertainment from The Squezzettes.

• Event Registration Fees:  $20 for Adults, $15 for Children 12 and under through August 25, 2011 (Day of Costume Run Registration Fees are $5.00 more for all participants)

All participants who register by August 20, 2011 will receive an event t-shirt in the size of their choice, a race packet with coupons and special gifts, and entry to our end-of-race Stevens Point Brewery Root Beer Float Picnic.  Anyone registering after August 20, 2011 will receive all benefits but is not guaranteed their choice of t-shirt size.

EVENT WAIVER:

I know that running in a race is a potentially hazardous activity.  I assume all risks associated with running in this event, including but not limited to: falls, effects of the weather, traffic, collision with other runners and conditions of the road.   I understand that this course will remain open to traffic and it is my responsibility to run on sidewalks and look for cars before crossing streets.  I will not hold the organizers of this event liable for injuries or damages sustained while participating.  Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I for myself, minor children and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive any and all claims against and release the city of Elm Grove, Waukesha County, Sunset Playhouse, race officials, all sponsors, their personal representatives, heirs successors and assigns as and against any and all claims, liabilities or damages of any kind arising out of participation by me or any of my minor children in this event.  I certify I am an amateur and eligible to participate in this event and am physically fit and have adequately trained for this event and that my physical condition has been verified by a licensed medical doctor or doctor of osteopathy.  I do further certify that if I am registering a minor child, I am the parent or legal guardian of said child.  I do further agree to indemnify and hold harmless the parties released from any claims, demands, actions or causes of action brought against them by any party arising from any injury or damage sustained by me or my minor children in this event.
