A Spring Tasting at the Lumberville General Store

Lumberville, just north of New Hope, is one of Bucks County's most picturesque riverside villages. At the heart of the town is the Black Bass Hotel and the Lumberville General Store. The store - which until recently was the oldest working post office in the US - dates back to 1770.

Lumberville General Store

If you have been to the "old" Lumberville General Store, perhaps for a cup of coffee, or one of their popular Supper Clubs, you'll remember it as historic, creaky and a bit musty.

It's still historic, but this month it reopened after over a year of renovation and restoration - and it is a gem.

In addition to a warm, welcoming cafe, the renovation "uncovered" two rooms in the building and turned them into beautiful, cozy spaces for meeting friends, tapping away on the lap top or, every Friday and Saturday evening, enjoying the Supper Club, a 3-course prix fixe with a menu that changes weekly.

The new cafe, overseen by former Black Bass Hotel chef Steve Mason, features fresh, housemade, seasonal food. “We want to keep the same feeling as the old general store but use fresh, high quality food made here, instead of buying from somewhere else.”

Join the Bucks County Taste Dinner Club as we get to wine and dine both inside
and outside the new Lumberville General Store.
