Please join the ASCE Acadiana Branch for our February meeting with 1 PDH opportunity. A presentation will be given by Jovan Tatar, Ph.D. with UL. Guests are welcome. Free for Students.
Dr. Jovan Tatar is Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He earned his Ph.D. from th e University of Florida. Dr. Tatar’s research and professional interests are in the general area of non-traditional materials for repair and strengthening of decaying civil infrastructure. He has expertise in structural testing of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures, field evaluation and testing of fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) repairs in concrete bridges, structural adhesives, nanomechanical characterization of materials, and spectroscopic techniques.
Dr. Tatar’s work is published in the leading peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings in the field. Results of his research on the durability of externally bonded FRP were implemented in the “Guide to Accelerated Conditioning Protocols for Durability Assessment of Internal and External Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Reinforcement” published by the American Concrete Institute (ACI) in 2015. Dr. Tatar serves as a member of ACI Committee 440—Fiber Reinforced Polymer Reinforcement, and Committee 446—Fracture Mechanics of Concrete.
