Academic Coaching

 

After 10 years of coaching children in music education, Musical Chairs is proud to announce the introduction of Academic Coaching:  A homework help, test preparation and tutoring program.  

We recognize the need for busy parents to increase their quality time with children after the work day. Homework assistance can be a frustrating process and children often learn more effectively from adults who are not their parents.

We also understand growing expectations placed on children to perform well in school, on standardized tests and entrance exams.  Musical Chairs will give children an Advocate who can help them through these difficult years.  We will guide them toward increased self-confidence, independence in their studies and academic success.  

Other tutoring programs currently exist, but they are often cost prohibitive and inconvenient.  Musical Chairs is now offering affordable tutoring services that can be scheduled in conjunction with or separate from music lessons. Participants need not be Musical Chairs Students. Our academic coaches are degreed, highly trained in their subject areas and have real world experience teaching children in the academic setting. They will work individually with your child to make learning a positive and encouraging experience.   

Coaching sessions can be scheduled at one of our Musical Chairs teaching locations or in the student's home. Pricing is based upon location and length of session.  

Academic Coaching is available for the following subjects: 

Math * Reading * Lanuage Arts * Spanish * French * Standardized Test and Entrance Exam Preparation

Coaching Sessions run between 30 and 60 minutes dependent on age and subject matter.  

Coaching fees:

Sessions at Musical Chairs Studio start at $30 per half hour.

In home sessions start at $45  per half hour (addt'l transportation services may apply depending on location).

Upon receipt of your online registration form, we will contact you to learn more about your child(ren) and determine a time / location that is suitable for you.  There is no cost to register.  Billing will occur after a program has been discussed and confirmed with you.  We do not require a minimum or maximum number of coaching sessions.
