Essentials of Hazardous Materials Management Oct 23-25, 2019 

The Essentials of Hazardous Materials Management course is a valuable resource to prepare for the CHMM exam.  It is a 3 day course (~24 hours in total) beginning October 23 through October 25, 2019.

Who should take the course?  People preparing for the CHMM exam; people interested in refreshing their knowledge in the subject area; people seeking continuing education credits for related EHS certifications.

What is the course content?  OSHA and EPA regulations applicable to hazardous materials management including, but not limited to, industrial hygiene, radiation safety, PPE, Clean Air Act, RCRA, Clean Water Act, etc.; the science underlying the regulations including geology, toxicology, etc.; Remediation; Sustainability; Professional Development, and more. 

Who are the instructors?  The unique aspect of this course is that we bring in subject matter experts to present the content.  We know it is a long course with a lot of content, so we shake it up with new instructors every few hours. Over the three day course, attendees meet and learn from 10-20 experts in the safety, environmental, transportation related fields.  

CEUs:  The content meets the criteria for the nationally recognized Continuing Education Units (CEUs).  The syllabus and your course registration could be utilized to document the contact hours.  A certificate of attendance may be provided upon request.

Additional Benefits: Attendees of the course will receive MI-AHMP membership through the end of 2020.  You will be able to participate in chapter events at the member rate, vote during elections, etc.   

Cost: $595 includes an electronic version of the AHMP Hazardous Materials Management 3rd Edition Desk Reference, course materials, as well as a light breakfast, lunch and beverages throughout the 3 days.  Note the cost does not include CHMM application, exam registration or associated fees.

Cancellation: If your plans change, cancellation or transfers are possible if provided in written form via email to education@mi-ahmp.org.  The following refund policy is in place if you need to change your registration.

• Before September 9, 2019: Full Refund 
• September 9 - October 15, 2019:  75% refund if  MI AHMP is able to fill the vacant seat
• September 16, 2019 or after: No refund
• Registration is transferable to a colleague but no refund will be provided.

In the unlikely event that an insuffient number of people register, MI AHMP reserves the right to cancel by October 16, 2019 and refund fees.
