2015 Women's Day at the Capitol:
Uniting to Make an Impact
 

Join the Florida Commission on the Status of Women and our partners from across Florida for a day dedicated to informing and motivating women to engage in the legislative process. Attendees will gain a better understanding of the process and the tools needed to be leaders on policy changes impacting women.

Women's Day offers legislative insight, meetings with lawmakers, and expert training on the legislative process. March 24th will be a day filled with networking and learning about issues and policies that enhance and enrich the lives of women and families.

Women's Day activities include:

  • A legislative briefing on policy issues affection women and families
  • Dynamic and informative speakers
  • Self-arranged meetings with lawmakers
  • Guided tours of the capitol buildings

The event is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is encouraged.

Kellyanne Conway of the Polling Company, Inc./Women's Trend will be the luncheon keynote speaker. Other presenters include Rita Lowman, Chief Operating Officer for C1 Bank; Dotti Groover-Skipper, Florida Anti-Trafficking Coordinator for the Salvation Army; and Jayme Agee, Public Policy Representative with the Florida Realtors.

The day will conclude with the 2015 Florida Women's Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Capitol Courtyard, followed immediately by a reception in the Senate Chambers of the Historic Capitol.This event honors women who, through their contributions and experiences, have made significant impact not only upon the lives of women but all Floridians.
