Continuing the Conversation:
Florida Financial Education Summit

During the fall of 2014, the Florida Commission on the Status of Women traveled throughout the state to engage with women and hear firsthand of the challenges they face with the ultimate goal of engaging community stakeholders in seeking positive solutions.

It was clear that families throughout Florida in every community, share common financial and economic concerns.  The commission recognized a real need for coordinated efforts among public and private service and financial organizations to educate women and their families on how to best access financial education and resources.

On behalf of the Florida Commission on the Status of Women, the Florida Department of Financial Services, and Florida Atlantic University, you are invited to attend, Continuing the Conversation 2016: Florida Financial Education Summit.”

The Summit will be a collaborative effort to bring together leaders at the local, county and state levels to learn of these important challenges facing women and families and to expand coalitions that will enhance the delivery of personal financial education both regionally and statewide. Confirmed speakers include:

  • Jeff Atwater, Florida Chief Financial Officer
  • Tasha Carter, Florida Department of Financial Services
  • Claudia Kirk Barto, Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast
  • Tracy Boulukos, Florida Atlantic University
  • Aaron Standish, Palm Beach County School District
  • Lucy Carr, PNC
  • John Deese, Guardians Credit Union
  • Ana Castilla, TD Bank
  • Fabiola Brumley, Bank of America
By connecting community leaders like you with these valuable and needed programs, we can broaden access and strengthen avenues to reaching those families on the precipice of financial disaster - those who are in need of it the most.
