MetroFuture Walks & Talks Tour of Fields Corner 

Join us for a tour into the past and present Fields Corner area of Dorchester, Boston’s largest neighborhood! Learn about the history, diverse cultures, community work, and MAPC’s collaborative projects in this vibrant community.

Stops Include:

Fields Corner T Station - The starting point of the tour is the recently modernized MBTA Red Line station draped with photos detailing Dorchester's transportation evolution.

VietAID - Learn about the great work this agency provides to the Vietnamese community and beyond, and learn how MAPC supports their work.

Golden Building – This property was considered unsightly until a collaborative effort revitalized it.

Fields Corner History Plaque - Be careful what you read! Learn how Fields Corner really got its name.

Fields Corner Municipal Building - Now the headquarters of the Fields Corner CDC, this original jail house houses still has its old jail cells below the newer offices and apartments.

Ronan Park - Climb all the way this hill-top park where historic events took place, including Dorchester's first dog park!

Isaac Newcomb Field House - Looks can be deceiving - Learn ho Dorchester's foundation still stands today.

Hero Square/ Adams St Intersection – Learn about how this intersection highlights the importance of community participation in planning.

Dorchester Music Hall - The imprint of the third floor Music Hall can still be seen on the brick walls today.

The Lenane Building - This Georgian Revival style 4-story mixed use building houses multiple non-profits.

Chua Luc Hoa Buddhist Center - Tucked away off Dorchester Ave is this yellow gated oasis.

Dorchester Theatre Building - Evidence of Dorchester's Theatre District days are still etched in the architecture of the still-standing building.
