PROSECUTOR WALSH

Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh has been instrumental in developing crime prevention efforts and services for victims of crime throughout her over 30 year legal career.

Since her election as Summit County Prosecutor in 2000, Prosecutor Walsh has placed special emphasis on criminal prosecution, victim services, child support, and community education efforts. She is the recipient of over 55 national and statewide awards including: 2019 Marsy’s Law for Ohio Victims’ Rights Champion; Ohio Child Support Director’s Association Best Overall Performance, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019; 2017 Victim Assistance Program Community Service Award; 2017 Harvey Sterns Award for Distinguished Service to Seniors; 2016 Ohio Crime Victim Justice Center Prosecutor of the Year; 2011 Ohio Public Images Elected Official of the Year; 2006 Ohio Patrolman’s Benevolent Association Prosecutor of the Year.

A crime victim herself, Prosecutor Walsh served as an Assistant Prosecutor, Police Legal Advisor and Assistant Director of Law with the City of Akron. She was also a partner in the law firm of Bevan & Associates. Also, for many years Prosecutor Walsh served as the Court Magistrate for the Village of Northfield, the Village of Boston Heights and the Village of Peninsula.

Prosecutor Walsh currently serves as a board member of the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association, the National District Attorneys Association and the Autism Society, Greater Akron Chapter. Prosecutor Walsh received her Bachelor of Arts from Miami University (1982) and her Juris Doctor at Capital University School of Law (1985).
