During Spring Break of 2018 we will travel all the way to Atlanta, the hub of Martin Luther King's work. Come learn, serve, discuss, and think creatively about carrying on the work of MLK today. This trip will be life-changing...

Friday, March 9th

• Leave SVUMC at 6 PM
• Drive to Monroe, LA

Saturday, March 10th

• Leave Monroe and drive to Jackson, MS
• Tour the brand new Mississippi Civil Rights Museum
• Visit the home of Medgar Evers where he was assassinated
• Do a group service project
• Drive to Birmingham, AL

Sunday, March 11th

• Worship with and eat lunch with a predominantly African-American church for homeless
• Workshop with representative from Equal Justice Initiative
• Visit National Civil Rights Institute, Kelly Ingram Park, 16th Street Baptist Church
• Drive to Atlanta, GA

Monday, March 12th

• Visit Center for Civil and Human Rights
• Eat lunch in historic Sweet Auburn Business District
• Visit the tomb of Martin Luther King, Jr.
• Visit the birth home of MLK and the church he pastored - Ebenezer Baptist Church

Tuesday, March 13th

• Leave Atlanta for University of Mississippi
• Campus Tour of Ole Miss
• Afternoon seminar with college professor
• Barbecue Dinner

Wednesday, March 14th

• Leave for home
