Track & Series Descriptions for Youth Leadership Congress

A track is 5 – 7 workshops (classes) toward an area of interest and/or certification.

A series is 2 – 5 workshops (classes) in a particular area of interest. 

Recognizing that the conferences within the Atlantic Union have differing training expectations for ministry leadership, we are pleased to offer a wide range of workshops that seek to reflect the diversity of requirements. We believe that you will find sufficient workshops to contribute to your training needs. Please note some conferences may offer additional classes after congress to complete certification for the series which are being offered.

You can still attend the congress and the workshops if you are not interested in either any one track or a series of workshops. If this is you, choose "Elective" from the track/ series menu on the registration page. 

Attendees may attend any seminar of interest listed under any track or series. You are only required to attend all the seminars in a specific track or series, if you intend to graduate with the certification in your local conference.

Track and Series Descriptions:

Master Guide (MG) - The Master Guide track (2-year program) is designed for those wanting to be Master Guides. This training leads to the highest level of leadership within the Adventurer/Pathfinder Ministries of the church. This curriculum is useful to those who are starting their training and those who are advanced. Some workshops are offered in Spanish. (Must be at least 18 years old to graduate)

Adventurer Leadership (AL) - The Adventurer Leadership track offers continuing education for those who have been invested as Master Guides, and are active within the Adventurer Club ministry for at least 2 years. This track will help you discover leadership qualities, which will allow you to become a more efficient and dynamic Adventurer Leader. Some workshops are offered in Spanish.  (Must be a Master Guide to graduate)

Pathfinder Leadership (PL) - The Pathfinder Leadership track is designed to provide training for adult Pathfinder club staff members. While it’s primary targets are those who have been invested as Master Guides, it also provides structured training for staff who have not yet earned their Master Guide class, as well as some direct connection to the Master Guide Curriculum. Some workshops are offered in Spanish.  (Must be a Master Guide to graduate)

Adventist Youth Leadership (AY) -The Adventist Youth Leadership track is designed for youth, young adults, and adults. Its objective is to assist the leader in training, to develop knowledge, personal spiritual discipline, leadership skills, and a practical approach to Youth Ministries both within and outside of the Adventist community. Some workshops are offered in Spanish.  (Must be at least 16 years old to graduate)

Young Adult Ministries (YA) – The Young Adult track is designed for young adults and adults. Workshops will look at ways of doing ministry with young adults within the context of the local church, community, workplace and schools of higher learning. The purpose of this track is to share best practices and approaches to various ministries that support young adults in their spiritual journey. 

Teen Leadership (TL) – The Teen Leadership track is designed for teens and leaders. Workshops will cover a wide range of topics of interest to teens. These workshops offer leadership growth experiences to the teens attending this leadership congress. Workshops will also provide introduction to areas of ministry in which teens can take part.

Adventist Youth Preach It (Pi) - The Adventist Youth Preach It! Workshop Series is designed for youth, young adults, and adults. Workshops are offered in the art of preaching, through which attendees can to develop a practical approach to reach others by proclaiming the Gospel of Christ. Some workshops are in Spanish.  (Must be at least 16 years old to graduate)

Digital Evangelism & Social Media (DESM) - The Adventist Youth Photography Workshop Series is designed for youth, young adults, and adults. Workshops aim is to train the individual in the art of social media evangelism in order to use it for the benefit of the church and the advancement of the gospel. 

Drumming (Dr) - The Drumming Workshop Series offers intensive practical training for the beginner, and refresher/continuing education for the skilled drummer.  Topics range from the significance of drum corps in the gospel ministry to practicing several different drumming rudiments.
