What Joy it is to live as children of God! The Father's love for the Son and the Son's love for the Father is an example to all of us about how to live into the blessings of this life in union with each other. This retreat is designed to empower, kindle, and strengthen the relationships between Father's and Son's so that they can experience life together in thanksgiving; to Live a life of love and unity in constant prayer. The relationship between Son's and Father's is a reflection of the divine love that God has for his children. Through fellowship, games, and teaching we will discover how to encounter the living God in our lives together and through each other.
Activities include: Sailing, Canoeing, High Ropes Adventure, Low Ropes Adventure, Disc Golf, Corn-Hole, Climbing Wall, Basketball, Swimming, Singing and Prayer.
This retreat is for fathers and sons of all ages 14 years and up. Registration closes August 15th.
Facilitators
The Rev. Keith Talbert is a child of the Diocese, being called from and returning to serve as a Priest in the Central Gulf Coast for the last 24 years. He enjoys fishing, cooking, playing chess, construction projects and riding a boat around the Gulf Coast. He and his son, John Talbert, both serve at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Foley, AL.
John Talbert is a postulate of the Diocese in our local School For Ministry. He serves his church as a Ministry Coordinator and Lead Musician. He enjoys cooking, gardening, creating music, playing all kinds of games, and riding a boat around the Gulf Coast. He and his father, The Rev. Keith Talbert, both serve at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Foley, AL.
Schedule
Friday night provides an optional "early check-in" for anyone traveling a far distance. Dinner Friday night or breakfast Saturday morning will not be provided and there will not be any set activities planned for Friday, but this does provide you the opportunity to check into your room early and be on site for retreat check-in first thing Saturday morning.
