2020 Men's Conference

 March 6 - 8, 2020 


Offering faith, direction, and encouragement to those wishing a closer relationship with the Lord in the company of other men in the Diocese.

Please join us at Beckwith for the 2020 Conference

The 39th Men's Conference and Retreat will be centered around "Politics and Religion: Can Christians Still Render Unto Caesar?" presented by The Very Reverend Ian S. Markham, PhD from Virginia Theological Seminary. This casual weekend will include fellowship, oyster shuckin', worship, spiritual growth and much more. Registration closes February 15, 2020.

The Very Reverend Ian S. Markham, PhD

Dr. Ian Markham is the Dean and President of Virginia Theological Seminary, and was our 2014 speaker. Before his appointment as Dean at VTS in August 2007, he was Dean and Professor of Theology and Ethics at Hartford Seminary in Connecticut. Previously he served as Visiting Professor of Globalization Ethics, and Islam at Leeds Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom. He has also held faculty positions at Liverpool Hope University and the University of Exeter.

He completed his PhD at the University of Exeter in the UK, where he focused on Christian Ethics. He previously earned an M.Litt. in Philosophy and Ethics from the University of Cambirdge and a B.D. in Theology from the University of London.

Dean Markham is the author and editor of numerous books, including Liturgical Life Principles: How Episcopal Worship Can Lead to Healthy and Authentic Living; Christ and Culture: Communion After Lambeth; and Do Morals Matter?  Dr. Markham spoke on Liturgical Life Principles at our 2014 conference.

This year he challenges us to examine our faith to discover if it matters in politics. Come and be a part of the "best little men's conference" in the Episcopal Church and welcome back our distinguished speaker.
